Introduction

Still reeling from the repercussions of the church shooting plot she got jerked into ten year ago in high school, Majesty is now crushed, having also lost her daughter, Mikayla, in a preschool gas explosion, and, oh yeah, her marriage to a slut. So, when she receives a bizarre glimmer of hope that her little girl might actually still be alive, she chases after the impossible, willing to do whatever it takes, even fight heaven and hell, to try and reclaim the happiness that’s been stripped from her.

But her hunt sets four others on a collision course with disaster: her 15-year-old sister, Skye, who’s out to expose the supposed magical secret society at her high school; Crystal, an 11-year-old who’s trying to escape a hellish facility filled with mindless children; her former best friend, Vivien, an art therapist, who’s hoping to figure out why her daughter suddenly stopped speaking and began slipping into catatonic states and drawing gruesome pictures; and Chance, a guy, posing as a wealthy recluse while trying to recall his forgotten past and eliminate his enemies.

In their dark and gritty world where ruthless people are doing the unthinkable, nothing is what it seems and these truth seekers may not like the answers they find. And little Mikayla could very well be trapped in this web of deception …

… or truly gone forever.

Sapphire Reign is the 134,000-word sequel to Kings & Queens, and it opens ten years after those events. It’s a stand-alone novel, so reading the first is not required to understand this one. However, you will not be able to go back and appreciate the whodunit roller coaster ride of Book 1 if you know all the answers.
