Introduction

When a serial killer lined the banks of Highway 22 with two severed heads impaled on sticks, he turned the old university town of Sidon into his playing ground and marred it with death. He follows with a series of taunting sonnets to the police, where he mocks them and promises more murders.

For every pair of heads found impaled alongside the road, he has two girls in store, facing the same morbid and grotesque fate. In the mean time, Homicide Detective Hollenbeck thinks he is coming close to seizing the maddened killer. However, trailing too close to the killer's tracks propels young girls of the city onto the path of the darkest danger.

Behind the city's curtain of youth, promiscuity and aberrant sexual behavior are on the rise, and quickly becoming a down-low life style. Hollenbeck cannot help but conclude that the behavior of most crime victims may have led to or contributed to their victimization and in this case, this particular group, the behavior of promiscuous female students in itself is facilitating their victimization.

While serial murder is pushing the hedonistic college town to precipitous limits of terror and racial discord, Hollenbeck's only hope is to understand the method to the killer's depravity. Nevertheless, this serial killer has more than just the one of the sickest most repulsive paraphilia ridden killers Hollenbeck has ever heard of?he also has powerful resources, and Hollenbeck's worst nightmare already has one-step ahead of him?
