The book follows a young man from being orphaned in England, to traveling with a barber to going to Turkey, masquerading as a Jew, to study medicine in the year 1000. A great adventure and fascinating history of medicine. Good love interest too
A glimpse into the Middle ages. Fascinating reading about a time and location that is so unfamiliar to us
