Our book club chose this book as a break from the deeper literary choices we have been making. It was a wonderful diversion sparking lively discussion of characters, story line and "whodunit." Several of us have read other mysteries featuring Armand Gamache, and were happy to introduce other club members to this grand series.

2 1/2 Stars. Over 30 characters in this book and only two that were relatable. Took entirely too long to get to the end result. Just didn't love the story but it was ok.
