I almost didn't finish reading this book. I was about 50 pages in and was hesitant to continue. Continuing was one of the best things I've done. E.L. James hooks you and leaves you wanting for more. Filled with surprises ( mainly in the first book ) and allows the reader to absorb themselves in the story. It is not the best work of literature I have read but great for summer days lazing around and dreaming. The main characters make you fall in love with them. E.L. James leaves the ending open, hopefully she will write one more in this series.

The story line in these books is really good, kept me hooked and reading non stop. I read all three in less than a week. Just couldn't put it down. At first the descriptions of their "encounters" had me glued to the book and rereading them over and over again. By the middle of the second book, I was skimming over the sex parts just to continue on to the story line. I literally could not put it down except as required by work. I didn't eat, sleep or much of anything else while reading them and had to take a week afterwards to comprehend what I had just consumed before I could even think about starting a new book.

I have never read a book where scenes were so descriptive........i enjoyed all 3 books. Enough to where i was reading them in the bathroom at work because i couldn't wait to see what happened. I think its a great 'love story'. I have already reread them. :-) my only complaint is that i wish she would write more. I feel she could do so much more with the characters.

I certainly don't know what all the hype is about.nothing special about this book. A glorified harlequin romance, if it can be called romance.

I finally got to reading this book to see what the hoopla is about. From page one the reader is on an adrenaline rush which only intensifies as you continue to read. This book is not for the faint of heart.
Christian Grey is way off in left field with his kinky sex and as for Ana she makes you want to scream WTF.
It seems like the only colour Ana turns throughout the book is scarlet. If you are looking for erotica then this is the book. Reading it disturbs my senses below my navel and trickles down down down. It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s like the equivalent to a vibrator.
