It takes a while to get into the book, so keep reading. A very well written book about the effect of change on tribes in Nigeria when the English missionaries arrive. Our discussion could have gone on for hours longer if people didn't have to get up for work in the morning!

Found it a little long and confusing in parts. But really enjoyed the impact of colonialism on the characters and village life. Great book!

I am glad I read this, but my book club would hate it. It is really bleak.
