I enjoyed this book very much. It made me smile even when a dead man was chopped up and a bird flew off with a finger and the ring still attached to it. It didn't fly far when the bird dropped it in next doors garden. A little bit far fetched I think! As the ring played a part in the story the bird couldn't fly too far away!
The main character is Bjorn, his wife Katharina and their little daughter Emily.
All is not well in the marriage as Katharina feels her husband is spending too much time away from home. Bjorn is a Criminal Defence Lawyer and is at the beck and call of a gangland boss called Dragan Sergowicz. The story continues with Bjorn attending a mindfullnes training meeting at the insistence of his wife. More murders take place, but strange at it seems there is plenty to make you smile.
I have given this book 9/10

I found this an easy to read and amusing book. I'm not sure what that says about me !. I did like the idea that Bjorn, in following along with practising mindfulness was killing people as and when he needed to. I thought that the murders along with mindfulness was giving him a much easier life.
Bjorn seemed to think he needed congratulations as he had not killed anyone until he was 42. He came over as likeable as he was obviously very fond if his wife and daughter and only wanted a quiet family life.
I enjoyed the book and would like to read more by this author.
I would score the book 8 - as it kept me amused right through to the end of the book.

Well this book is definitely unique!!! I wasn't sure what to think of it at first but I really started enjoying it and getting into it very quickly. I absolutely love the fact that throughout the book are sections with mindfulness guidance that then relates to the next chapter that we are about to read. Considering it is a crime book mainly and about murder I found it really funny which I wasn't expecting, I have also started doing some of the things that it says in the mindfulness sections too!!! I really felt sorry for our protagonist Bjorn which considering he is a lawyer absolutely shocked me!! However he was getting it from every direction and couldn't seem to win no matter what he did!! I love the sweet relationship that he had with his daughter and how he was determined not to let work ruin his weekend with her even though it ended in disastrous consequences!! I am definitely going to be watching the Netflix series next as it will be interesting to see how it lines up with the book although from experience of TV from book I haven't got high expectations. The translator has done a brilliant job in translating this book from German to English and I would never have realised it had been translated if I hadn't read it had on the back of the book. I also loved the ending which was another thing I was not expecting. I would definitely read more books by this author!!

Murder Mindfully was an easy, enjoyable read. It was an original story as it combined mindfulness with murder. Although I didn't laugh out loud I did find it humorous and clever. I liked the way Bjorn used mindfulness to help him murder.
Score 8.

I really enjoyed this book. I found the idea of linking the story to mindfulness a unique strategy which made the book an interesting read. I also liked the dark humour which helped to bring the characters to life.
I will give it a 9.

I enjoyed this book, I thought the author’s dark humour was easy to read and although the events that took place were terrible they were written in an engaging way. I also enjoyed all the satirical links to mindfulness which Bjorn used to help him with his crimes.

I enjoyed this book very much but unfortunately was not able to finish it. I would probably have given it an 8 or 9l

I enjoyed the beginning of this book very much and was looking forward to how I thought it would progress - however I was wrong. Instead of a rampant serial killer motivated and excused by passages about Mindfulness there were a series of almost accidental deaths of people whose deaths were understandable rather than totally out of the blue. Since the review I have realised that the reason I could not remember much about it at all was because I was a little bit bored after the first half! The story was easy to read and well written with special praise owed to the translator who did an absolutely brilliant job. Altogether an interesting premise but promise not fulfilled for me.
For this reason I have downgraded my score to 6 out of 10.
