Beautiful Sacrifice centers around Lina Taylor, her family, a new ex-cop "friend" and stolen Maya artifacts. All the events in the story take place in the days leading up to the Maya 2012 end of the world. It is fast paced, interesting and fun.

For the first time in the history of our book club three of our five members did not complete a book. It was just too slow moving in too many places. There were some adventurous and scary parts but I would not recommend this book. We have made a new book club rule that any member who fails to complete the new selection has to buy dinner for the whole group. So next time we get stuck with a read like this one, we must persevere!
