This was a fascinating look at the society whose superstitions led to the profoundly unjust Salem witch trials and hangings. The story was made even more interesting by telling the story through the eyes of a child. I liked this book so much that I didn't want it to end ... I wanted to know the continuing story of the Carrier family.

This book was a very good read. I did not know very much regarding the Salem Witch Trials. This book was so informative with such a good story surrounding the facts. I had no idea there was so much cruelty involved. I highly recommend this book.

"Good but not great" by perfectlypinned (see profile) 01/03/11

An interesting time in history re-visited, and to a degree explained. Less dramatic in it's conclusion than I'd hoped. Well written, with well developed characters.

"Interesting" by SandyTague (see profile) 04/09/11

This was an interesting story of the Salem iinprisonment of those accused of witchcraft. The audio was better than the book.

"Interesting Historic Tale of the Witch Trials" by marshlynn (see profile) 04/10/11

Though I knew some of the history of the Salem witch trials I had never read a book about it. This is a very good narrative based on real people, ancestors of the author, that I think will interest any reader.

Written in the voice of a young girl, I found this book to be entertaining, and informative. Being a lover of history I did not know so much about the witch trails. You can learn from this book, yet be entertained while reading.

Good book for book clubs.

"A thought-provoking story" by MEMiller (see profile) 06/17/12

This book was very well-written and engaging. There were so many topics of discussion to explore as a group. My book club thoroughly enjoyed it!
