Great, easy read that was surprising in the end. I loved it. I am a firm believer in self acceptance and finding out who and what you really are. I loved it!

This book just wasn't for me, I found the descripitve food analogies annoying after awhile. I don't need to be told 47 times that someone has an "orange juice" voice. But I suppose that may have been the point of what an Asperger's mind is like. Like I said, just not for me.

"Disjointed" by FriendshipSisters (see profile) 06/12/12

"The Kitchen Daughter" was next on my must read list, interested in the point of view from the perspective of one with Aspberger's. I am left very dissapointed. Ms. McHenry's novel leaves much to be desired, and is extremely disjointed. The cooking steps for each recipe became boring and the characters were a little more than flat. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone, there are just too many good novels out there, waiting for you to turn the page.

"The Kitchen Daughter simmers with great flavor" by nbaker (see profile) 01/10/13

This book was a fun and interesting read about family, grief and connections. Whimsical at times, it flowed with the sweet consistency of warm cocoa and at times gave off a scent of pungent sizzling garlic. It speaks of the lengths we go to protect our children without thought of how that protection can become an imprisonment to them. It speaks of dealing with grief, the value of memories and the promise of a tomorrow.
