I really enjoyed it.

Gripping story with strong characters. Alix and Josie are birthday twins, born the same day and the same year. (Matthew McConaghy is my birthday twin!) But their lives have taken very different paths. Alix is a podcaster, happily married and living in a posh neighborhood. Josie is renting an apartment and working on a tailor shop. When they finally meet, everything is about to change for them both.

Like I said, the characters were the best part of the story. The pacing was off -- really slow for 2/3 and then crazy. I didn't love the ending either. But I would still read more by this author.

As you read NONE OF THIS IS TRUE, remember its title, and try to pick out what is true and what isn't. And remember, too, what you may assume is true may not be.

At first I was put off by the format Lisa Jewel chose for this story. Not that I minded that it is a story within a story; I minded that the order of the podcasts (which are the story within the story) confused me at first, i.e., sometimes a future podcast was put in the middle of something that was presently happening. Sure, this added suspicion and tension, but it also made me have to reread because other podcasts were not from the future. Once I got used to this format, I enjoyed the book for the most part.

A podcaster, Alix, meets her "birthday twin" (someone else born the same day that she was), Josie. Turns out, Josie is nuts. But it takes a week for Alix to figure this out. She's too nice. This was frustrating for me, that Alix was so nice to Josie even though I could tell right away that something was not right with her.

So Josie gets to tell her story of her marriage to a pedophile while Alix records it for a podcast. Although it wasn't the plan, this turns out to be a true-crime podcast on Netflix.
