This book is a must read. The author made Melinda come to life for me. It may sound stupid but I will admit that I talked to the book. Every time IT came around her I would feel the same panic. At the end I was totally rooting(?) for her when IT locked them in the closet and tried to rape her again.
This book generated a good discussion of the issues surrounding the high school years and the ways parents respond.
Gave me a different point of view as to how a young girl might react to this kind of situation.
