Mead's Vampire Academy may be considered YA but this series is highly addictive. Rose was a breath of fresh air. She is not a vampire but she is a solid character. I was so excited to finally read a YA book that has a strong female heroine. One who will think for herself and who can take care of herself. A heroine that is not waiting for the next hot guy to save her.
