I am not one to choose nonfiction but this book was like reading a historical novel. I felt like I was being introduced personally to so many of history's most famous first ladies with a glimpse of the presidents and their marriages. Starting with the Roosevelt's and continuing thru the Truman's, the Johnson's, the Kennedy's and the Nixon's, this book gave me a great appreciation for the complexity of running the White House and a great appreciation for the job of the first lady. J.B. west was quite a person!
