I enjoyed figuring out the symbolism and the idea of the fable or parable elements in this story of Eargon's journey as he discovers himself and the good and the evil of his world.

Our club really enjoyed this book; it was very different than our regular read. Personally, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. This book is similar but different - more like a Lord of the Rings - except the plot is easier to follow. Love the creatures, Eragon finding out he's not who he thought, the character development as the story flows. Fun, easier read!

Written by a young author, this book still can hold your attention and make you eager to find out where the plot will go next. It generated a good discussion in our book club, and we had never before read this type of book for our group.
