It was an insightful narrative of horrible sexual abuse to a young girl by her father. What struck me most was that while being abused, she oppressed that aspect of her life as if her days and nights were parallel lives. She didnâ??t even know her abuse was abnormal (Although Iâ??m skeptical). She did a great job of indicating that not all victims handle abuse the same. She buried herself in her school work and had a very positive coping mechanism to survive when when many wouldnâ??t (like her brother Thomas). She overcame and dedicated her life to prevent the treatment she had from DCS happening to other victims.
