It was just a nice story. Nothing exciting. It was just slow, and I was disappointed that the main character didn't get her "lived happily ever after" story

This novel captures the essence of the awkward, practical young woman who must find herself in the midst of the drama of every other life she holds dear. Since I discovered it decades ago, it continues to resonate with every rereading.
