The cover looks like this book will be a light summer read but it isn't. There are many upsetting situations in this book. None of us liked the story, but we did have a good discussion about it.

"Not what we expected, but still a good read..." by southern-belleza (see profile) 07/21/08

TSSoSL was definitely not what we expected though it brought up some great discussion in our group. We decided to give the book 3 stars because of the way Despres brought up the various social issues in the book, from abuse to racial.

Though it was the consensus of the group that we probably wouldn't read it again, it was a great book to discuss.
