Daughter of Fortune left me wanting more. I understand that the book was set in mid-1800s, that the characters and people discussed at length are used to not having answers to everything. However, as a reader, I felt let down when I've invested so much time reading - a fascinating novel - only to have the ending drop flat. I literally read the last sentence and sighed, "hrmp".
I agree with the prior reviewer. The ending left me scratching my head. I wanted a lot more after such a LONG, LONG story. There were parts of the book I enjoyed very much, but it was a lot of time invested to not satisfy the reader with a strong ending.
This one was a little too far fetched for even my imagination!
