"Account of an 1800s religious cult (non-fiction)" by donnadeleon (see profile) 02/27/09

The topic of this book was not of much interest to me personally, but it might generate good book club discussion. Living in Western NY, the local references made the book more interesting than it would have otherwise been. The best part of the book is a surprise near the end, when one of the characters is revealed to be someone all will have heard of.

The book was very interesting and our group wondered by we never study the religious extremists that made up a large part of our new country. It was very fact based and probably not a good choice for groups who are looking for a good talk over feelings, opinions and your basic novel.
