My book club thought that this book was very well-written and it has some fascinating accounts of Abraham Lincoln himself. I found the part about why and where he got his hat very fascinating. My book club is planning on reading at some point Putnam's other two books -- These Honored Dead: Gettysburg and These Honored Dead: the Civil War.
