What a fascinating idea of knowing exactly how long our life will be. Would that change how we live? If we only knew…There must be a good reason why God has chosen not to tell us. It is interesting to think about how we might live differently if we only knew. I’m thankful I don’t know.
This is very thought provoking and a wonderful book to discuss with others. Every person will have a different perspective on what they would do with the boxes. One thing is for sure it shows discrimination at a different level. It shows the good and bad of people running for office. I connected with all the characters and enjoyed their story. In the end we all need to live each day to the fullest.

This book will definitely make you think, feel, and want to discuss it with someone. “The measure of your life lies within” that is what is written on the boxes that show up all across the world inside holding the answer to when your life will end. Will you have a short string or a long string? Will you look inside the box? Do you want to know your fate or the fates of those you love?
The Measure follows 8 people and intertwines their stories beautifully. This would be a wonderful bookclub or buddy read book with great discussion. I thoroughly enjoyed this debut novel and the thought provoking original story.
