A tough read because of the subject matter. A child is emotionally and physically abused by the mother which is ignored by the father. A sad story all around.

This book was hard to read because the story is very sad. Being a teacher, I do not understand how her horrific treatment was not reported by the school system. I guess it was before we were mandated to report.
