This book was recommended by a member of the book club I oversee for our church. I found it to be a quick and easy read. It was quite informative about the contest era of the 1950s and 1960s, which is a subject I knew very little about. Her winnings were quite surprising and I especially enjoyed reading through her compositions for each contest. Her ability to offer provisions to her family on her limited winnings was amazing and very heart-warming. I found it to be a little heavy with ALL the inclusions, however. An overall interesting story.
