If you know me or have read any of my reviews of this series, I am not a Sarah & Jeffery fan. However, this book makes me reconsider my stance.

First, I've decided the reason they don't work for me is Sarah. I can't tolerate her endless waffling on the relationship and, moreover, for such a level-headed person she sure can bring the drama. Yet, here we not only get to see how Jeffery has overcome obstacles to become the man he is today but also how she has matured.

Second, I found meaning in the title that made me look at the relationship in a different light. Ms. Slaughter's titles always seem to pop up unexpectedly but always carry a meaning. Unless I missed something, "indelible" doesn't come up but my interpretation is that Jeffery has made an indelible mark on Sarah and she has no real choice but to make it work. She can't let go of him. This makes their relationship more likable for me. Hopefully though it won't be the main focus of coming books.

Last note: Amanda Wagner! I didn't know she would make an appearance in Grant County but it made me so happy to "see" her. Just love her.
