Everett is only 17 and a senior in high school, but he has his whole life planned. He wants to stay in the rural town where he now lives with his family and take over the family’s sheep farming business. He meets Mary, she has very different hopes and dreams, which included leaving the small town in Michigan and going to art school. Love soon happens between them and they are not always as careful as they should be. By the end of the school year they have reached their breaking point, Everett still wants to stay and Mary still wants to leave, but yet another decision must be made first.
This is a beautiful and sometimes heartbreaking coming of age story, tastefully told.
