"One of our best discussions" by DPLbookclub (see profile) 11/19/10

Although the book is a little dated (published in 1986) it is an exceptionally well-written and very insightful book. A LOSS FOR WORDS gives a very interesting look into deaf culture. Our discussion was greatly enhanced by a deaf member of our club who was able to explain some of the parts that we wanted to understand more about, but we would recommend to all clubs.

"A window into the deaf culture" by moihart (see profile) 11/19/10

While this book is slightly dated, and technology is rapidly causing changes (e.g. text messaging) in the opportunities for communication between the deaf and hearing worlds, it's a great story of family and interactions.
