Valley of AmazementA typical Amy Tan book - explores mother/daughter relationship issues. But I learned a lot about Chinese culture back in the days of the Boxer Rebellion. It was enjoyable.

A man called OveThis book is a call to each of us to look beyond the surface of our fellow manned to reach out and find the best in people. Ove seems like a grumpy old guy that no one could love, but as the story goes on, one neighbor is able to peel back the layers and discovers how wonderful he can be.
