You know it's a good book when I wake up at 5 a.m. and decide to go finish it instead of getting more sleep!
I had a friend recommend it - decided to see for myself and was not disappointed. A nice change from the usual novels out there! Bravo to Sara Gruen!
I believe the author was incredibly 'wordy' and much of the story was unnecessary. I found the English slang distracting, but thought the idea of the parallel lives intriguing. We had fun discussing the book, but would not rush out to recommend it to another club. Sorry, but the overall rating was disappointing.
We had a lot of fun discussing this book. Holly warmed our hearts, Gerry broke them - - each character offered something to this book and we related. I would definitely recommend this book - it was an easy read - with detailed content.
Typical Nicholas Sparks book -- a good summer read, and not too heavy at all. Most of our ladies read it in one or two days...
Tear jerker at the end, but as I said, typical Sparks. I'm a fan, so that is not a dig...
This was by far, the best book our club has read over our two years together. It sparked great talks, we laughed and kept on laughing! Highly recommend this book to other ladies book clubs!
This was a good read, and it created a lot of great conversation regarding things we wished we had accomplished over the years. It prompted us to write a "short list" and we all promised to set out to complete the task by the end of the year.
Loved the book because we all fell in love with Henry! Great characters that provoked thoughtful conversations...
Our book club loves Cathy Lamb! This was another fun, easy read with a lot of laughs! I hope she keeps writing!!
