This novel gave yet another perspective on living in Germany during the Hitler years. With "Death" as the narrator, we watch 4 years in a young girl's life, from when she is placed in a foster home, to the end of the war and the impact that people, and words can have. A very interesting book providing great discussion. One of the best I've read for this era.
