It has many layers to several of the characters that are great discussion topics.

My book club really like this book. The characters had several layers that made the book very interesting, sensitive and enlighting.

Epic, Interesting, Insightful
Really enough how the characters came to life

Ken Follett did a great job developing the characters and describing theirs within the period. I especially enjoyed that he used very strong females.

Conclusion was disappointing and characters needed to come together in a better way

The God of Animals was an OK read. I would recommend the book to people who are social readers and not avid reader. My book club just gave it a 2 rating out of a scale of 1-5. However, I did enjoy the audio version. Not so much for the story but the wonderful narration.
