I like food, so I would liken the book to Skittles. They are fun, colorful, and you're not entirely sure what you're going to get. They're also addictive.
The characters in HP Mallory's book are fun. It was a nice, fast, light read in between two emotionally gripping novels that I read. I'm not entirely sure if I would choose it for a book club pick, but there are themes in the book that would be worth discussing, and every book club is different.
I look forward to reading her second book.
In a word, the book was compelling.
I didn't want to put it down. I actually cried in public.
It's a gripping tale about a mother who is called to war and the emotional toil that has on her and her family.
Hannah did an excellent job and I liked reading the part at the end where she had a military woman read the manuscript and provide feedback.
I truly love Hannah's ability to bring out the emotional fragility of her characters.
