My Reviews
Well, it's official. I'm a Joshua Henkin fan. One of my biases in reading novels is judging male authors harshly who try to write from a woman's perspective. My standards are high but Joshua Henkin meets them. This story involves a family with complicated relationships all trying to honor a son/brother/uncle/father who died a year before in Iraq as a journalist. They come together for an intensive weekend for the memorial. I was caught up in the story, the characters, their secrets and their thoughts as they adjust expectations and roles during these few days. I recommend the book highly.
