My Reviews
This book is LONG. A few of our club members couldn't make it to the end before we met. This story kept me very enganged until the last part, at that point I felt like several hundred pages could have been cut out and I just wanted to know how it ended. Overall, I liked it but it took some effort to finish.
I've heard this book compared to The Hunger Games and it is not that. I think that The Hunger Games series was able to appeal to a wide age range where this story really is targeted to preteen - teenage boys. I read all 3 books in the series and it just didn't do anything for me. I especially disliked the made up language to replace swear words and the fact that Thomas is supposed to be brilliant but doesn't act that way.
I love how the author wrote this sequel. I was fully engaged through the whole book and truly enjoyed this read.
