My Reviews
This book was long and wordy. While I learned some new information I didn't know about WWII the way it jumped around from one branch of relatives to another was confusing. It would have been helpful to have a family tree to keep everyone straight. Many of the family went through horrific events during the war and the book showed their courage tenacity and endurance.
I really enjoyed reading about the generations of women, their individual sagas and how the whole book tied the characters together. I especially liked how the "fairy tales" were woven into the real lives of the characters. Great Book!
