I really resisted this book when all my friends said how wonderful it was--due to the subject. However, my book club chose it and I am so incredibly glad. I read it in one day. The overall subject matter of the book is horrible but it is written so that it doesn't seem the main thing. Hard to describe. I was so upset I didn't already have the 2nd and 3rd in the series on my night stand. Read it and you will be glad.
It was an interesting book but there were too many paths to follow. Not like his previous writings.
I resisted reading this book because of the "setting" and what was going on then. However, once I started reading it, I was hooked. Brilliantly written
This was very hard to get into in the beginning. Too much to dig through to get to the point. However, a sign of the times when it was written. Good story overall.
