My Reviews
I found myself completely caught up in the lives of the characters and couldn't put the book down. The author did a fabulous job in his descriptions of both Indian foods and religions; there was so much to learn in addition to following the plot. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will definitely read it again.
I couldn't stop reading this memoir! Rossi presented her years being "reformed" from a rule-breaking punk rocker in Crown Heights, Brooklyn in colorful and vivid detail. She describes her experiences in this gritty Orthodox Jewish neighborhood that was at times violent after being placed there by parents who thought they were doing the right thing for their wayward Jewish daughter. Yet, she brings humor to her story despite these hardships. I was cheering for her the whole way through the book!
