We chose this book based on positive reviews about the author's first novel, The Birthing House. I found that the book did not have enough of a plot line. It ended abruptly and I would have enjoyed hearing the story told through Dr. Sadie's perspective. I'm more interested about how she became a female doctor during that era.

One of the best books I've read in a while. Great story, fast paced, couldn't put it down.
