The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

interesting plot, but the choppy writing, obvious foreshadowing and use of bold face bothered me. i wouldn't have finished it if i hadn't had to for book club.

Unique and interesting, but at times it was confusing and the ending left something to be desired.

Absoltely LOVED it!

It took me about 50 pages to really get into it, and I'm only halfway done now, but I am loving this novel. The narrative switching back and forth between time periods and characters takes a little getting used to, but Morton is a gifted writer and really makes it coherent.

I'm not a historical ficion buff, but this was excellent!

Pointless, Unconvincing, Slow
Short stories that should have stood alone and not been collected in one book

The Road to Wellville by T.C. Boyle

My Least Favorite Book I've Read This Year

It's supposed to be "wickedly comic," but I didn't find it remotely funny. I didn't empathize with any of the characters (of which there were FAR too many), enjoy the writing style or find any redeeming value
