Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver

Prodigal Summer

This book had a slower start than Barbara Kingslover's novel, "Poisonwood Bible" but nevertheless about halfway through I was drawn in and intrigued by the three characters whose stories were sure to intertwine somewhere. The second half of the book was more suspenseful and I was increasingly anxious to see how their stories would end. Nannie Rawley and Garnett S. Walker III are characters you can't help but adore. The book provides a balance of closure and the opportunity for the reader to draw their own conclusions about what happens next.
