This story of friendship, mother love, and family is well written and moves at a good pace. The mother, Jude, is both over-protective and loving, and constantly warns her twin high-school seniors of the perils of drinking and driving. It is therefore predictable that a fatal accident occurs and one twin is killed. The grieving process for everyone involved is long-lasting and not pleasant to read about, but the ending of the story is more uplifting and hopeful.
