Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls

Half Broke Horses

For those who loved The Glass Castle, the book might be called a "prequel." Walls tells the story of her grandmother, whom you will recall bailed Walls wayward family out more than once. She was an independent woman/teacher/horsewoman, mother/rancher/hearse driver and poker playing no nonsense woman!
To the person, everyone in our book club loved this story of a strong, intelligent and hard-working woman!

Thoroughly enjoyable!

To a person, we love Barbara O'Neal's books. And we loved her books when she was Barbara Samuel. All of them speak to us as women, and to our lives. Because the setting of almost all of them is Colorado, and Northern New Mexico, we also enjoy revisiting the places we know and love! Her last 3 books under the Barbara O'Neal name have the added bonus of some excellent and unusual recipes! We had Barbara at our meeting and the discussion was lively, informative, and candid--Loved it!
