My Reviews
I thought Nicky was a great character. For a 12-year old she was very insightful and strong. While the relationship between she and her father seemed strained I believe there really was a very strong bond between them.
I appreciated her coverage of some of the history of China. History I knew nothing about. Like others in my club I would like to have seen the grandmother developed more. Overall it was a very good book.
This book got your attention from the very beginning. It kept you guessing throughout the entire story and the ending was a complete surprise. This was the first of Harlen Coben's books for me to read and I will definitely read more of his. You might want to take notes of all the characters for discussion in your book club.
I have been a fan of Randy Singer's from the beginning book. Randy uses current events for the backdrop of his books and adds a Christian spin. I have a hard time putting his books down and cannot wait for the next one to come out. I highly recommend any and all of his books. You will be spellbound.
This was a fun, lighthearted book. Made me laugh out loud. Sure to cheer your spirits.
I really enjoyed this book. I think each member of my book club could say that they have known someone who was represented by the patients at the school. It was a beautiful story of love, adaptability, compassion, and respect. I loved how Martha's former students just helped her with no questions asked.
This was such a beautiful book to read. A definite tearjerker, not just crying but sobbing. You can't help but fall in love with Louisa. She is such a unique character. I highly recommend this book to any book club or reader.
This book was a little slow getting started but once I got into the book I could not put it down. This is such a beautiful coming of age story which would be a great read for all ages (youth and up). I highly recommend the book.
