This book was just amazing! It grabbed hold and never let go! Kathryn Stockett's style is stirring and not once did I want to put the book down. The story touches the heart and stays. Hopefully the lessons can stay in your heart forever!
Reading this book was like trudging through the snow in middle of winter in the mid-west! Each time I thought it was picking up speed and interest the author threw in some dark and disturbing information about the characters. Once you find out the twist it loses the little interest there was.
I was captured by Nell as the lost little girl and swept away by the fairy tales within the story. For the author to have added them was just wonderful! The twists and connections later made were perfectly done! I loved the story written in generational pieces. Each of the 3 main characters grabbed hold of my heart.
I really liked this story. The story takes place 2003 but everyday in the news we still hear about Iraq! Cassie is easy to identify with no matter your age.
