This book will give you a good look at what war is like from the inside looking out, with a young woman who has a focus in her life to become a dr. in a time when it was almost impossible for a woman to do. She is determined, helpful, loving to those around her during a dark day in US history.

The book was well written, pulling you in from the beginning with ending information about characters before it you got to know them, and then latterly explained in the book. Information (from a Germans point of view about the Nazis), good read.

An easy read, keeps you engaged while reading the story. A good family story about disappointments, hard work, and caring for people.
