My Reviews
A difficult book to read. I find it intriqing to read a book written about women and their struggles from a male author's prespective. I like the author's writing style.
It brought to light the struggles of gay couples looking to raise and nurture a family with children. I do wish the author would have gone a little more into depth about the music therapy and the effects it had on the character Lucy. There are many different dramas involved in this book and sometimes it was a challenge to remember all that transpired. But in all it is a reflection of what happens in real life....this book made for a lively discussion.
This book brought up discussions on homeless mentally ill individuals - initially the discussion started out slow but got more energized as time went on. Many readers were discouraged by the use of "The Great Gatsby" characters disperesed in the body of the story. I found it intriquing.
This is a bittersweet story about a woman's growth as she ages.
