This book was a good read and had an interesting story. It is quite dark and intense at times..being a book I would not pick up myself. I do not recommend this story for children due to the sexual content and the other shocking happenings in this book. However, I did enjoy how the author intertwined real circus facts into her story.
This book opens the reader up to the world of Cleopatra. The story is packed to the brim full of information that is sometimes hard to keep track of, but, interesting nonetheless. From reading this book, you will notice that you, and countless others, really did not know Cleopatra. Today she is still a mystery, but Stacy Schiff managed to get as many facts/lore as she could to provide the reader with a sense of what it was to live in the time of Cleopatra's reign. Well worth the read, and I recommend this book!
This book will have your emotions going up and down and will keep you reading! It is full of intense, heart-breaking moments but also has those moments that make you smile. This is definitely worth the read, any book club would enjoy this story.
