I was mesmerized by the narrator of this poignant tale, Death Himself. And how appropriately linked to Nazi Germany! This is a tale of a strong girl, Liesel, and all those around her who have made the fatal "mistake" of being alive during the Nazi regime. Touching on so many levels, Liesel is desperate to live her life despite the suffocating atmosphere of book burnings and death camps. I've recommended this harrowing adventure to many friends.
