Sweet Misfortune: A Novel by Kevin Alan Milne

Sweet Misfortune or is it Bittersweet?

This is a nice relaxing read, nothing heavy or too deep for the average reader. I do wish some of the other characters were better developed as I found I didn't really care whether most of them were there or not. The lack of raging sex was a nice change of pace, as it is an assumption that over time the engaged couple most likely did sleep together as there was no mention of purity rings, religion etc. It is a nice weekender-type book, and the fortunes at the beginning of each chapter are really well thought out and snappy. Nice read for the light to medium reader, although more well read readers might find it too simple and not meaty enough to really get into.
