Gave me tremendous insight into the lives of my ancestors who were impacted by the inquisition in Spain and other countries and their reasons for emigrating to the new world in western Mexico.

This book recreated another world outside of the U.S. and conveyed the life challenges of the characters in a way that moved me emotionally and enhanced my understanding of the Afghani experience.
